Collection: Keurkloof Fynbos Honey

All our honey originates from our farm Keurkloof, in the Elands River Valley (Eastern Cape.) which is situated in the UNESCO Floral Kingdom of the Baviaans Kloof protected Mega-reserve, having the highest floral biodiversity in the world for non-tropical flora.
Due to the many different species of fynbos flora, and the different times of
flowering, no two batches of honey will have the same unique flavour, or colouring.

We have  two distinct types of honey available at different times of the year, depending on what plants are flowering.

  • Darker coloured honey is harvested in early spring, with a very unique and stronger taste mainly due to flowering aloes during winter.
  • Lighter coloured  honey is harvested in autumn, due to summer flowering blossoms has a  lighter colour, and unique milder flavour, due to the flowering blossoms in the summer months.
